with automation for jira I have a rule that clones an issue. But I can't find a way to copy, during the cloning of issue A to issue B, the link that is automatically created when a jira issue is mentioned in a confluence page. This link appears under the "Issue Links" control but is of the "mentioned in" type which I can't figure out how to copy with automation for jira.
Hi @[deleted]
Without seeing your complete rule, perhaps a couple of things to try are:
Cloning doesn't necessarily link everything you want, and so perhaps try to add the link from the source issue afterwards, using Branch on Last Created Issue and referencing the links in the {{triggerIssue}}
If that "mentioned in" link does not appear in the issue's link field, try using this how-to article to identify the smart value where the link exists, and then use advanced edit with JSON to set the field in the cloned issue: https://support.atlassian.com/cloud-automation/docs/find-the-smart-value-for-a-field/
Kind regards,
Bill
thanks for your reply yes i already visited the wbe page you are referring to, but i am working on jira server not jira cloud. And the "mentioned in" link that is created in jira issues when linking a jira issue to a confluence page, is not among the values that are listed as a field that can be cloned from the triggered issue.

Thanks for that reminder you are using Jira Server.
Here is the information for the equivalent REST API call to find the smart values for Jira Server: https://docs.atlassian.com/jira-software/REST/7.3.1/#agile/1.0/issue-getIssue
Again, if you can find that mention has a smart value in the results, you can try the advanced edit with JSON to set it. Here is the documentation for that for Jira Server: https://confluence.atlassian.com/automation070/advanced-field-editing-1014664449.html

@Bill Sheboy thanks for your help but no information regarding the "mentioned in" issue link appears, unfortunately.

I recommend submitting a ticket to Atlassian Support for this; perhaps they either do not know it is missing or do not know people want to access it. The benefit of submitting the ticket this way is to get the actual automation team people looking into it.

@[deleted] did you submit a request? Or otherwise find an answer?
I want to do something similar - copy the WikiPage links from one issue to another.
Thanks

@Martin Cleaver I have not submitted a ticket to Atlassian, but my team of specialists is writing custom program code to solve this problem. Since this is custom code it is owned by the company I work for and I cannot post after here. But if you are interested in solving the problem, we can talk about it privately. During code development I found yet another "bug" in confluence.
