How to create a sprint report for committed story points vs corresponding ticket's statuses.

ShameeraDudekula December 3, 2019

Hi,

I am trying to put together a gadget/bar graph that shows committed story points Vs ticket statuses (Open; In progress; on hold; closed etc) in a sprint or multiple sprints together.

For ex :

I would like see a chart for lets say two months worth sprints (say 7)

So i am expecting to see something like below. FYI, this is a manually created chart.

Hello @ShameeraDudekula ,

I am not aware of a native reporting gadget in jira that could supply these two data points (sprint to status) other then the "Two dimensional filter statistics" gadget, but this option does not have the ability to add in the story point element as well as the Estimation fields are not supported for the gadget, and there is no bar graphs but rather a a table with a numbered list of data points,  I do not think it will hit what you are looking for fully but that gadget is worth a look to see if it partially fits the use case.

But going Beyond the native jira Reporting gadgets , Another really good approach here is that you can also look at our free google sheets add-on "Jira Cloud for Sheets" that allows you to import data directly to a google sheet via an =jira() command then use the spreadsheet formulas to calculate and manipulate the data values as needed for your report, and you could very easily adapt the chart you created above to use the jira data sources directly.  Then combine the data with the built in graphing options in google sheets.

Alternatively to get additional reporting options and gadgets in Jira directly you would want to look into third part reporting tools as add-on apps, and "eazyBI Reports and Charts for Jira Cloud" OR "Custom Charts for Jira"  are two that I am aware of that would have these capabilities, and both have a lot of customizable bar charts.  But I would also recomend checking out the related avaliable tools in the marketplace at the following link that narrows the search to Jira cloud compatible and Charts for the search term:

Earl
