How to disable node in LB from application end

debraj.neogi@tesco.com June 20, 2019

Every time we have a faulty node in JIRA or some issue is reported on a particular node, we have to contact the Network team with node and farm details requesting them to mark that node as Inactive in the Load Balancer configuration.

I know this can be done from application end, but not able to figure it out how. Something like create a file (anything, a text file even) on app server, make LB do health checks searching for that file, and if file does not exist, stop directing requests to that node. Can anyone help with some link which may have some elaborate explanation of this setup? Has anyone done it already? Thanks in advance.
