How to link issues from different projects when the value of a certain custom field is the same?

Hello,

We want to link two issues from two different projects that share the same value for the custom field "ID".

For example: when an issue is created in PROJECT 1 with ID = 1234, we want an automation that looks for another issue in PROJECT 2 with the same ID = 1234 and links both of them. We have tried doing so but are unable to find this option in the automation actions.

Can someone assist with this question? We also have the ScriptRunner add-on in case it's helpful.

Thank you very much

Hi @Javier Peraita

You might try something like this:

Do the following:

  • Replace Cost with the name of your field (e.g. ID).
  • Replace Project ITS with your "Project 1"
  • Replace Project PROC with your "Project 2"
  • Make sure you enable Multiple projects under Rule details, and add both project (see image below).
