How to script an auto assign based on a Created Custom Field

Hello people,

 

I need a hand, like the question says i`m looking to have an autoassign script based on a created custom field if the ASSIGNEE field is left on AUTOMATIC

Exactly like the Default Component field works that has an assign to Component Lead. All though I do not know how to grab that code.

I think with Scriptrunner it is possible to create a script.

Hey Marco,

 

Yes I do have a scriptrunner, and i just glanced over that thread, but if that's right I need to create multiple if statements and basically define the custom field.

Will start putting together a script and see if i can get it to work.

In Server you will need an addon, e.g. Scriptrunner, automation for Jira, power scripts, etc.

Did you try the Automation functionality? With automation you can auto assign tickets based on the custom field value. No scripting is required for simple cases.

Hello,

Thanks for the reply, I was thinking about running automation, however I don't need it to automate always, is mostly when the assignee option is left as AUTO, i want people to have the option to choose an assignee if they know who they should send the issue to.

I will add this to my main question to make it more clearer.
