Hello all.

I'm unsuccessfully trying to unsubscribe to a filter in Jira.

1. In the "action" column there is nothing (red square on the right)

From several screenshots I've foud throught the internet I should have a "Delete" link.

2. In the "subscriber" column this is not my name (this is a colleague's name ... why ? I don't know) (green blurred on the left)

(sorry, the screenshot is in french)

Thanks in advance for any tracks to be investigated or let's be optimistic any solutions.

Regards.

Hello Guillaume,

Welcome to the community. I hope you're doing well.

You can only manage (delete/unsubscribe) filter subscriptions if you are the owner of the filter

In your screenshot, the filter is named "ATC FULL"

We can see another person listed as the subscriber — this may be you, but not necessarily the filter owner.

If someone else created the filter, you won't see the “Actions” option unless:

You're a Jira Administrator, or the owner shared the filter with you and made you a manager.

To solve this, you can ask the filter owner to unsubscribe you or transfer ownership. Or ask your Jira admin to remove your subscription.

Another possibility is that you don’t have Global Manage Subscriptions permission.
To edit subscriptions you didn’t create, you need either:

Jira System Admin permissions

Or Global permission: “Manage Group Filter Subscriptions”

If you’re a regular user, Jira will show you the subscription but not allow you to act on it.

I hope it helps.

Thank you.

Regards,
Hector

Hello Hector and thanks for the feedback.

As far as I can remember I indeed did not create this filter, but I've subscribed to it by myself. Now the project is done and I'm not anymore interested to get those daily emails.

I'll try to do what you are advising, but I keep thinking this is strange to have the "subscribe" autorization but not the "unsubscribe" (unless my authorizations has been changed).

(My terminology is probably not accurate, I'm new to Jira)

Thanks again and regards.

Hi G,

Thank you for your update.

I think you have the following options to stop receiving those emails:

If you're not the owner and need to stop emails:

Ask the filter owner to :

  • Remove you from the subscription.
  • Transfer filter ownership to you (via “Manage Filters”).

Another alternative is to ask your Jira Admin to go to:

  • Jira Admin menu > System > Filter Subscriptions
  • Search by filter name or ID
  • Delete or reassign the subscription for your user.

I hope it helps.

Regards,
Hector
