I want to know about app admin role in Jira and what are the access he will get in entire workspace?
Hello @adas1
Refer to this document for an explanation of the admin roles:
What are the different types of admin roles?
A user granted the Application Admin role for Jira has the permissions of the global Administer Jira permission within Jira. Refer to this document for descriptions of the Jira Global permissions:
You’re right to clarify that this Jira’s app admin role can be a bit confusing. Generally, an app admin doesn’t get the same level of control as a site or org admin. Instead, their access is mostly tied to managing apps/add-ons, configuring settings for those apps, and sometimes adjusting permissions within the scope of the app itself. They won’t automatically have global access across all projects or the entire workspace unless that’s explicitly granted.
You can check Atlassian’s breakdown of Jira Cloud admin roles and permissions for property management London for a clearer picture of what app admins, site admins, and org admins can and cannot do.
