I would like to create a notification scheme that includes the text within the description field. But, I can't figure out how to do this within Jira.

I would like to create a notification scheme that includes the text within the description field. But, I can't figure out how to do this within Jira.

I know the email issue add-on allows for this, but I was hoping to find a solution without having to purchase an add-on.

You can edit the email content templates - see https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Customizing+Email+Content
