We are setting up a small JIRA software project internally to track the progress of several internal developers on some tools, and I'd love to use SSO for internal users to login and track any issues they are tagged in. We use Zendesk for other teams which handles this very elegantly, but JIRA (outside of Service Desk) seems that i can't do this without using license seats. Licensing seats are overkill for most users (they just need forms to submit via Service Desk) ; is there an elegant solution I'm not seeing ? I was looking at trying to move the software project to a service desk, but won't that break some of the functionality of the project ?
Having the end-users having 'classic' authentication (locked to our internal domain) isn't the end of the world, but I really like not burdening folks with additional passwords.
