Hi,
I have an issue where a user cannot log onto Jira, he also cannot reset his password as it never sends the email.
I have tried to remove this user from the organisation and re add him but he never receives the invitation email.
Hi Ines,
I assume this is a server installation. Have you setup email sending in Jira yet?
Kevin
Hi Kevin,
Yes, and this client was using Jira for all correspondence but ever since he tried to re set his password it's almost as if it won't recognise his email address and it wont send a Jira portal invite or re set his password.....

That is indeed strange.
If I were in your shoes, I would take the following steps to try to figure this out:
1. Turn on email logging in Jira, and see if it is making an attempt to send the email. I don't know off the top of my head, but I am pretty sure you can get full SMTP session information as it is trying to send it. You can either activate it inside the jira admin console or log4j.properties file in your installation directory.
2. Can you access your SMPT server's log and see what it is doing with the traffic from your Jira server?
Anyway, I would just open up the box and see what it is doing. I think that will get you going in the right direction.
Let me know what you find.
Thanks
Keivn
