Hi,
We want to somewhat automate the changing of issue type (from task to change); Is it possible to create a workflow for this and all we need to do is click a button for it?
Hope this makes sense
So instead of click on move or the icon of the issue type and then changing and then confirming status, etc, we want to automate the whole thing to a single button.
Is this something that can be done? I remember jira server used to be able to do something similar
Hi @Astan Chee
You have multiple ways to change issue type. Is their a specific reason you want to do this way by creating button?
The alternate way I can suggest is using Automation rule below (Specify JQL according to your requirement). You can click on Run rule once you have configured and later disable the automation to prevent further executions.
NOTE:- Make sure current status of issues are available in target issue type workflow.

Hi @Astan Chee
You could change the scheduled trigger to a manual trigger.
You are then able to trigger the rule on an issue with one click.

interesting. is there a way to make the automation rule only apply to the currently viewed issue? or maybe another way altogether?

You have to change JQL accordingly for it

what does the JQL look like if it only applied to the current issue only?
