Is it possible to calculate a custom date field based on effort remaining?

I would like to have a calculated due date field that would update based on the remaining effort estimate when work is logged to a task or sub task. Is it possible to have a custom date field calculated based on the effort remaining? We are using Jira version 4.4.3.
