Is it possible to create Visual Multi-line text box?

The Description field as well as the Environment standard fields in Jira give you the option of having a visual or text based response in the box.

When I create a multi line text box custom field I don't get those extra options on my text box.

Is there away for me to have those options on my custom field multi line box as well?

If you log in as an admin, go find the "field configuration" for this project and issue type (easiest to go via the project header and settings), then you should be able to change the "renderer" for the Acceptance Criteria from "plain" to "rich" or "wiki" (not sure which you might have)
