My focus here is JSD, but the question pertains to core JIRA as well.
Our business case is that customers may reply via email or the portal when the assignee is off shift, or on PTO. We are currently using automation to transition the ticket from Waiting for Customer back to Waiting for Support, and team leads monitor the WFS queue in case the assignee is out.
I would love to be able to trigger a comment or workflow transition like the following:

IF CustomerReplies and Assignee is Not Logged In THEN
tag an escalation point
ELSE
transition to Waiting For Support

There is not as far as I know.
