I would like to put in place that multiple approvers can be listed on a change request in JIRA Service Desk BUT what combination of approvers are required is driven by either user selection or based on the content of fields already completed. Is this possible?
Hi Elaine, AFAIK there is no way to have conditional approvers OOTB. I found this addon that “may” solve this but I have no personal experience- approval-path-for-jira .
now, as I type this a complex idea has formed in my head. I don’t think it would be scalable if you were to have more than a handful of approval paths. The idea would be to create several approval statuses and assign unique approvers to each. Then use Project Automation to automatically transition the issue once it is created using your custom field as the condition. For example, let’s say you want issue approved based on department heads: Finance, HR, Engineering, Operations. You would have a custom field “Department” that is required at creation. This would be used to transition to the appropriate approval status: Pending Finance Approval, Pending HR Approval.....
