Is there a way to limit the number of issues allowed in a kanban column at one time?

Travis Christianson February 23, 2018

The current min and max constraints functionality will turn the column red if we exceed the maximum amount of issues. However, we want to take this a step further and prevent a user from being able to add more than three issues to a column. How can I create this solution?

Hi @Travis Christianson , I am cleaning up some old posts and came across this one here. Hopefully you have moved on and found a solution to meet your needs however, if not I thought I would provide an answer for you or future searchers.

Unfortunately the min-max feature provided within a kanban board is a soft restriction in that it doesn’t actually restrict the number of issues that can be added to a column/status. Rather it simply alerts The user visually that you have exceeded the define max.  There isn’t a solution out of the box to achieve this goal. There may be something in the marketplace but I’m on familiar with such an app.
