Is there a way to open issue from clicking the issue in the bar in timeline view?

I click the issue in the timeline bar intuitively, hoping it will open up, and then, on a large monitor, pan back to the issue in the left-most "Items" column, hoping to click the right issue and not fall victim to parallax.

Hi Timm,

In Jira's timeline view the functionality you're describing—where clicking on an issue's bar in the timeline directly opens the issue—isn't the default behavior. Normally, clicking an issue bar on the timeline will just highlight or select the issue in the left-side "Items" column, but it won't directly open the issue.
