Is there a way to secure/lockdown structure plugin?

Want to be able to limit who can build structures, is that possible? And if so, how? Any negative impacts by doing so?

Yes - the structure plugin configuration screen allows you to specify who can create structures. No negative impact that I can see... In fact, it seems to keep things from getting too cluttered if you limit it.
