Is there any way to get the sprints for each release in JIRA rest API?

I am developing an application wherein I have to pull in data from JIRA rest API in order to create a trend on the number of defects that were found for each sprint of each release in a project. I have to associate the sprints and a release (The app should be able to determine the sprints in a release and then the defects will be counted according to sprints).

Sprint is the Sprint custom field in an issue. Version you can find in the Fix Versions custom field. That is why if you get an issue by Rest Api you can always define to which sprint and release it is linked.
