Is there any way to have "Text" fields with several lines?

Hello, in a NG project, to create bugs, we have added a "text" field named "steps to reproduce".

But we need more than one line to describe such steps, and "text" only allows for one, so we use the "Description" field instead.

Will there be a "text area" type available soon, even without rich text capability, or is there a way to make a "text" field multi-lines?

Since Next-gen projects is a lab feature on JIRA, our developers are still working to implement some custom fields and functionalities to it, including the multi-line text custom field.

That been said, we have reported the task below to track their progress on custom fields implementation for next-gen projects:
