Issue with JIT User provisioning

I am in the process of setting up single sign on using the openid connect option. If the user already exist ( manually created), there is no issue logging in. My current issue is with enabling JIT provisioning (Create users on login to the application). When a user that does not have a existing Jira account with a matching username I keep getting a error, and when I check the logs, I see a common error  ( see attached).  I was wondering if anyone had a similar solution or is there a way I can enable more robust logging to help diagnose the issue.
