Issue with POST request to update customField cascading options via jira REST API v3

I am attempting to complete a post request via the JIRA API to update a CustomField dropdown options, however, even after reading the API documentation, I cannot avoid receiving a  "An option value must be unique in its field and a cascading option value must be unique in its option." error. I have been following documentation found here

Has anyone ran into a similar issue before?

Are you able to post an example of the API call you're making and the configuration of your cascading field?
