Issue with status transition

I am part of a Jira board which uses multiple issues and workflows. 

For 1 issue type, the status is stuck in To Do. It says You dont have permission to transition this status. I am part of the Admin group so there should be no permission error. The permission helper shows I am able to edit, transition and close this ticket. 

When I view the workflow, I see there are 2 random statuses with nothing transitioning to them. 1 is called Test and the other is called Account Setup. They both dont have any transitions to them. On the ticket the status says To Do which does have transition lines.

On the workflow, the floating status called Account Setup, the description says "this issue is being actively worked on at the moment by the assignee.

Anyone got any ideas?

It would be helpful if you could share a screenshot of your workflow and explain what status you would like to move your issue into.

The issue can be related to missing transitions, workflow conditions, statuses that are not correctly mapped to board columns, ...

While the statuses with no linked transitions should obviously not be set up like that, they do not impact that you cannot transition away from the to do status.

Most likely, the transitions from to do to In Progress and Pending Review have a condition configured that is restricting you from accessing them. I'd recommend looking into that first of all.
