You can per project adjust the Notification email like; jira@mycompany.com
in the project settings.
But when JIRA send a mail, it is prefixed with the editor's name what is bit of a practical problem because we allow the reply on that mail also.
This would then store the wrong email address in the Outlook of the user.
e.g. : From : Mike Fix-It (JIRA) [mailto: jira@mycompany.com]
While the email of that person is: mike.fix-it@mycompany.com
for any regular use of the Outlook.
So any "Reply" on that mail will mess up things and even just sending a mail can be tricky because of memorized history in Outlook.
Is there a way to change the prefix to a fix name like;
e.g. : From : Support (JIRA) [mailto: jira@mycompany.com]
no matter who changed the ticket?
I also have JEMH but don't see the "hack" there neither.
Hi Serge,
If you are using JEMH in combination with its Event Listener, you should be able to use a custom "from name". In an Event Listener mapping there is a setting called "Custom From: Personal". Here you can enter static text of you what you want it to be. Alternatively there is a separate setting "Custom From: Personal Custom Field" where you can choose a custom field that contains the value to use.
