My understanding of JSD incoming emails and attachments is that any images embedded in the text of a field will be added as attachments when creating the issue.
They won't be visible as images in the context of the text in the issue.
I've found a workaround for this with JEMH which we don't currently use.
Could someone confirm this understanding is correct? My users would love to just create coments with images WYSIWIG style.
Hello Tom and welcome to Atlassian Community!
If a customer adds a comment through email and the comment field is set with the "Wiki Style Renderer" (the same as shown on the documentation you've added) the comment will show the same as their email, with the text and the inline images, for example, add a text, paste a image, add more text and add another image, but the images will also appear on the attachments field.
When adding a comment through the customer portal, they will add the images and the text and all images will appear after the text.
Can you please give us more details about the issue that you are facing?
Are the customers adding comments through the portal or email?
Once we have more details about how you would like the comments to appear, we can check if there is a workaround/feature or if it's a bug.
Regards,
Angélica
Thanks for responding. This ended up being posted under my work email rather than my usual profile :-(
I tried the email with images on a different server and the text was formatted with images in line. I'll perform some tests on our prod server and confirm the above behaviour.
Regards
Tom
