Jira - Delegated LDAP Directory

AccessHolding November 22, 2018

Dear Community,

I face a an issue which I can´t explain. Jira is connected to our LDAP, only LDAP users can login to Jira. Group memberships are handled still in Jira, which is fine for us.

Let me explain further details. Imagine a Jira project called "Project A". User "Smith" and "Meyer" are member and issues can be assigned to them, like it should be. Now user "Smith" and "Meyer" are leaving the company and both users get disabled in the LDAP system. Also both users are no member of any Jira group anymore, completely blank.

Jira does not allow me to manually disable them separate, like in Confluence. So the user appears still as (active) without any group. Which consume no license. Which is also fine for me. Now the strange part - any other user from "Project A" can still assign issues to "Smith" and "Meyer" which makes me crazy.

I can´t separately disable them like in Confluence and no group is assigned. How could it be?

We are using Jira 7.8.0.

I hope I explained it well.

Best,

Kristian
