Jira sidebar greyed out intermittently

Hi

I'm having a similar issue to https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-questions/Navigation-pane-greyed-out-and-no-preview-view/qaq-p/664523

My set up is

• Reverse proxy set up in IIS with https
• Jira 7.12.1

Intermittently happens on https, when testing on web server and on second PC.  It happens with software and service desk projects.

I tried 

• BIG_PIPE_KILLSWITCH - it just left a blank area where the side bar was
• I set bypass any proxy/SSL connections.  On http with browser on the server, the issue didn't happen. 

What settings should I change in IIS? I'm a bit stuck.

Hi @Phil Wade

Is your Jira a brand new installation and IIS was set up just recently for it?

• Try restarting the windows server after setting up IIS for Jira, no joke, this helped me a few times with IIS already.

Hi Niklas,

I have applied the registry fix described in the second post.  It looks like the same situation.  Thanks heaps for this point in the right direction, all my googling didn't find it.  

My initial test didn't have the issue, so fingers crossed.  I'll watch it for a few days.
