We had a custom field called ITIR Number that was used in the Project template for both Epic and Feature.
This field was mandatory field.
The field was then relabelled to Improvement Id. No other changes.
Field was decoupled from the Feature, so only appeared in the Epic template.
There were no issues for a number of weeks.
However now, when creating a Feature under the Project, it is asking for the ITIR Number field. But this in essence no longer exists. Unable to create a Feature.
How was the field being made mandatory?
Specifically, was it via the field configuration or by a validator in the workflow?
I think it was made mandatory through the workflow. How do I change it?

You would need to edit the workflow, looking for, changing or removing validators on the transitions.
