Pull request status is not updated in JIRA Software when PR is merged in Bitbucket

Although the pull request contains an issue key related to the Jira ticket, the pull request status is not updating. Here are the screenshots.

I had the same issue, and I found this answer here 
Approving the already merged PR (from Bitbucket) triggered an update that refreshed the status in Jira
