Adding custom field and mapping it with Zendesk

Dali December 25, 2018

Hi Community Members,

we are tying to add a custom field to our Jira instance, "watchers" so that we can pre-define users to watch an issue directly through our Zendesk interface.
After doing some searching, I found a plugin in the Jira store "Jira Watcher Field" that can add me this custom field.
However, like mentioned above, we already have the Zendesk instance linked with Jira and the field are already been mapped, so after adding the field I tried re-loading the app from both sides Jira and Zendesk but with no luck I wasn't been able to get the filed in the Zendesk ticket creation screen.
Can you please help us ?, what should we do to get the field in Zendesk.

This is a screenshot of the "Field Mapping" in the Zendesk for Jira plugin, I can only find the Zendesk custom field, In Jira I can find other custom field created but I can never find the watchers one.

Thanks in advance,

field mapping has limitation on field type, perhaps you may refer here if this is the case.

Similar problem here, did you find a solution?

Hi Ricardo, Unfortunately we didn't find a solution to this problem, as the Zendesk plugin only detect system fields. we tried re-syncing the connection between Jira and Zendesk but we couldn't be able to map the Jira custom fields in question.

The Zendesk plugin is not yet stable, we had to work with what we have.
