Hi there,

I am very new to Jira and have created a new task type for our admin to shcedule automation jobs against. For me it all works fine.

When they login and try to assign an automation create task to a user there is no ability to use the select user drop down box

when they view an automation that I have created the user select just shows as a random string

I am sure there is some kind of permission I am overlooking but I assumed being the admin group they would have had it.

Hi @Jordan Haines

You may want to check in the permissions scheme that the user is assigned to the "assigable user" permission. This could be via a role or group. You could be a sys admin, but for projects you have to ensure they have the right permissions.

Here are more detailed instructions: https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver/managing-project-permissions-938847145.html

Thanks for your response ! I have had a look and the 'administrators' group is assigned to the 'assignable user' permission.

Both my user account and the other user are a member of the administrators group so I thought we would have had the same permission.
