Assign sub-tasks automatically when a service request is created

Hi all,

 

I'm looking for a way to have a ticket request in the customer portal, that once created, makes a number of sub-tasks automatically?

 

Example being, hardware request, with 3-4 sub-tasks created and assigned to certain agents to do certain tasks before the main service request is closed.

Is this possible in jira?

This looks like a lot of helpful stuff, i'll have to go through all of these and find one that works.
