Is it possible through automation to have an issue in a Jira project space cloned, duplicated across to Jira Service management space?

Yes, that is one of the strong suits of the Jira product family. They are build on a shared platform so integrating the issues across the projects is very easy.

It's feasible to copy issues across JSW & JSM projects.
For example, when JSW issue is transitioned to certain status, trigger an automation rule to execute to create a JSM issue/ticket to edit its fields copied from trigger issue.
