Change the default dashboard when a user logs on

Besides the system dashboard we have created multiple dashboards specific for certain teams.

Now we would like to have this dashboard show when the user of that team logs on to Jira.

It doesn't have to be a settings such as "user is member of group x so show dashboard A" but I would be happy already if there was a way a user could set another dashboard as default when they log in.

Am I just missing the option somewhere or is this not possible? I don't want to change the System Dashboard as that would then be for all users.

There's no function for this, sorry.

I suspect a "new user" wizard app could be constructed for Server/DC instances at least, one that could pop up a dialog to ask for a default favourite for the user, but you'd still need to think about the people who don't know what they might want, as you would with a script or code that chooses one based on groups or something else about the user.  And there's nothing that directs people to a favourite over the system dashboard on their initial login.

I was starting to fear that..

It's not so much to what the user want it's more what management/supervisors want their subordinates to view after the log in (as default).

For us now we made dashboard so they can follow up their issues easily but if they never look at the dashboard well it doesn't help

I think on Cloud you'd have the "my jira homepage" on your profile but no such luck on DC/Server

Try to configure your init page in your profile. In the upper right corner, into your user profile, you can do it

@Jose Luis Gaitan and that's possible on Server/DC? Nothing like that in my profile.

Got a hint? :)

Any chance you can share a screenshot. Either I don’t have it or I’m going blind.

I’m on server too but maybe I need a newer version?

You have the choice of marking the dashboard as your favourite, so you can access directly to it when you log in into Jira

Hey @Jose Luis Gaitan ,

It was indeed nice to discover that if I "Favorite" a single dashboard that that will be the one that shows up after my login.

The "sad" part is that if I "favorite" multiple boards I still need to choose the correct one (cause it shows all of them in the left side bar)

Is there any way to mark one of (all) my favorites as my default starting dashboard?
