Changing Issue Status automaticaly after deadline

The idea is to have a deadline to review an issue, if the project leader is not responding the issue must automaticaly change status to approved. Is this posible?

What I meant was to use the Jelly Runner Service and check for items which has crossed the Due date and transistion the issue to approved.
