Hey there,
We are on jira cloud.
I am trying to create a custom field on a custom issue type that does include a default table to allow the user to get some assistance on what to write in this field.
The renderer has been set to "Wiki-Style Renderer" in the field configuration for said field. When I set a default value in the custom field -> "Contexts and default values", the default value is being ignored completely.
When I go to the edit issue type window, add the custom field, I am able to set a default value. It does not, however, allow for table creation. Even the WYSIWYG Editor does not allow for tables. Is there anything I am missing?
I have already tried using markdown / markup, but nothing works.
Attached a screenshot on how the editor looks like:
Do you have any ideas on what I could do here?
Hello @Benjamin Schatter
You should be able to use wikimarkup. Can you tell us what you tried already? I was able to put a table in on my paragraph type field default value.
||heading 1||heading 2||heading 3||
|cell A1|cell A2|cell A3|
|cell B1|cell B2|cell B3|
apologies for the delayed response. I tried that, but unfortunately the default value is not being populated.
When trying to create a new issue, the values are not being used:
In the Issue Type Configuration window within the project, it remains empty as well. Note, that I am able to add a default value in this window as well:
If I do enter a default value in there, it will be populated within the "Create Issue" screen. However, tables do not work (also note that in the WYSIWYG Editor, there is no Table Icon.
It seems like that this type of project does not make proper use of the default value from the Default Custom Field Configuration and the new screen in Issue Type Edit does not allow for tables.
I am a bit lost here.

Yea it looks like you can't do it in a team-managed project. I'm going to have to go through the documentation, but the more I find out about team-managed the less I like.
