Hi,
We're trying out the Next-Gen board.
We populated a project with a number of issues and tasks and then wanted to assign them to epics.
We took four tasks and wanted to link this to a new epic but after doing this, the board doesn't show the issues at the board level - even though the epic does exist in the roadmap level.
Can anyone advise as this is quite frustrating.
+1 for this. @Claudiu Lionte
I believe this comes down to a feature request.
My opinion is that epics should also be shown as 'board tasks'
It gets very confusing when some items are 'roadmap' items but don't show up as assigned to you on the board. Is there a workaround to show both epic and tasks on a single board?
Hi Nitesh,
Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
The boards in next-gen projects do not show the epics as other issue types. Epics are only shown in the Roadmap section.
In the Board section, you can only Filter by epic - to display only issues in one specific epic, or Group by epic - in which case you will see all the issues but separated into categories - the epic they belong to. However, the epics themselves will only appear in the Roadmap.

Hi Claudia,
Thanks for this - I understand this and I've attempted to filter issues by epic however, I'm still seeing the following issues:
the epics that I've created - though visibile in the roadmap section and when i've added child tasks - do not appear at the board level.
i am therefore not able to filter the tasks by epic at the board level

Just experienced the very same bug this week.
I've created a new epic in "Roadmap" view and created some child user stories to this epic. They show fine in Roadmap and while opening the epic details.
None of those user stories are however visible in Board view. Board view displays the new epic but says it has 0 items.
Quite annoying... :(

I think you misunderstand. The problem is not that epics do not appear on the board. The problem is that:
This can't possibly be the intended behavior.

The issue for me was that the project has the "Backlog" feature enabled.
User stories created for epics in Roadmap were automatically added to the Backlog. I needed to move them from backlog to the board so they appear on the latter.

I've also had the same problem and just found the solution:
If you go and look at your backlog, change the filter to your required Epic you will see all of the tasks you've created.
Now click on the three dots showing on the far right hand side when you hover over the task and select Move - Board.
They should now show on the Board.

Is there a way to bulk add issues that were created within epics to the board?

if i'm understanding you here this is how NG works. Epics are used w/in the Roadmap but underlying child issues don't display. On the board the Epic isn't displayed but you can filter by Epic.

i thought so, too but at the "board" level even in a NG board, my child issues are there for other epics
