Hi,
I see the announcement for early access for SAML single sign-on for Atlassian products. In the SSO documentation, I see multiple types of identity providers (IdPs) that are supported. We use Shibboleth as our identity provider. Since it is not listed on the supported providers, it looks like I would just follow the steps for the unsupported, right?
Also, these steps on the link below are for Atlassian Cloud Support. If we were to have Atlassian products like Core and Confluence, would it be possible to use SSO with Shibboleth IdP for hosted Jira products?

Thanks,
Brent
Hi Brent,
I am not sure what exactly you mean with "hosted" Jira Products. If you mean the Server version that you can host yourself (as opposed to the Cloud version), then SAML is not supported out of the Box.
However there is a variety of add-on's available to be installed on Jira & Confluence that add SAML Support. These vary from free to paid and cover everything from open source to enterprise level support & features.
I personally work a marketplace vendor you'll find your SAML plugins, which are compatible with Shibboleth here: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/vendors/1210947/resolution-reichert-network-solutions-gmbh
Also if you want a full overview of available Plugins - the Marketplace Search for SAML is quite useful: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/search?query=saml
Cheers,
Christian
Hi Christian,
Thanks for the response. Yes, to clarify I did mean the server version that we host (not cloud version).
Thank you for the recommended marketplace vendor.
I'll take a look at your recommendations and let you know if I have any further questions.
My best,
Brent
