According to this you can only have customers if you have a "Service Desk" project. https://confluence.atlassian.com/jiracoreserver070/jira-core-overview/jira-applications-overview
But I have a hybrid. I don't want to have separate projects for each type when, for us, it is the same project. This would create an admin nightmare. I just need customers to be able to create tickets in my Agile (Software) project.
This doesn't seem possible in Jira 7. I don't understand the restriction. Maybe I am missing something here.
Well, I managed to figure out part if it. I have 2 projects one software, one Service Desk. I had to set to them up wish shared configuration. I then created a combined board with both projects. This seems to work however it just seems like there would be tons of issues. For example, the workflows have to be identical. If not the SD tickets can't move from column to column on the board like the Software tickets. I am still trying to see how this would affect notifications as I need to have different notifications for the service desk project than the software one.
