I downloaded the server trial version of Jira Service Desk to our server and installed it. After opening port 8080 I am able to access service desk and all is well. Now I want to change the HTTP connection to HTTPS so I can start using SSO. I created a self signed certificate on the host server. My question is: What do I do now?
Thanks for any help, Cheers, Roscoe
@robert Mugabuhamye link is a good source. Make sure you note you will need to update to use port 443. Check with your network folks to make sure traffic is allowed. If you're using a self signed cert the browsers will need to have it loaded ahead of time or the users notified to accept the certificate. If your company routinely uses them that may not be an issue.
Hi Joe, I read through Roberts starting point link below and in it found a reference to https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver073/running-jira-applications-over-ssl-or-https-861253906.html "Running Jira over SSL or HTTPS" which details a different set of steps.
Which should I be following?
Sorry if it's a silly question but I'm a bit of a newbie, Thanks, Roscoe

Hi Robert, Thanks for the quick response. In the article you directed me to as a starting point I found a link to another article at https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver073/running-jira-applications-over-ssl-or-https-861253906.html "Running Jira over SSL or HTTPS" that details another process. Which one should I be using?
Sorry if it's a silly question, Thanks, Roscoe
