How to retrieve the value of a Elements connect (nfeed) field in a jira server plugin ?

Hi,

One of my clients uses Element connect to create their custom fields.

I have to get the values of these custom fields in a jira plugin that I develop for them, but I always get an empty value.

I tried to use the java api without any success.

Could someone tell me how to do it?

I am the Product Manager of Elements Connect.

We don't provide a public REST API that can be used to retrieve the options of an Elements Connect field.

However, we have two workarounds:

• use Elements Connect private REST API (which is a bit risky)
• use Jira /jql/autocomplete API to get a field options (the one used by Jira in the advanced issue search mode) - see: https://docs.atlassian.com/software/jira/docs/api/REST/8.15.0/#api/2/jql/autocompletedata-getFieldAutoCompleteForQueryString

We want to improve our REST API, among our objectives for 2021 we want to:

• Release a public REST API which will return all the options of an Elements Connect field (currently it exists, but it's private) - related change request: https://support.elements-apps.com/browse/CO-2159
• Be compliant with jira /createmeta REST API that can be used to retrieve a field options - but it will be limited as dependencies to $issue won't be supported - related change request: https://support.elements-apps.com/browse/CO-3768
