How to trigger an automation to turn on / off

I am trying to set up an Out of Office Reassigner, and i would like to figure out how to turn on a specific automation if an Agent moves an "out of office ticket" into the status "out of office"

Realistically I just need some way to turn on this "out of office reassigner" automatically and with out the purchase of a 3rd party tool

You could do it using the Automation API, there is an endpoint to enable/disable rules.
