How to update all linked epics when an epic due date changes to avoid overlapping?

Vidhya Kumar December 5, 2022

Can anyone please point me in the right direction if this is achievable?

I am trying to create an automation that moves all linked epics forward or backward when an epic due date changes but I only managed to get it working with a direct linked epic. Please see screenshot for further clarification.

{{issue.duedate.plusDays(fieldChange.to.toDate.diff(fieldChange.from.toDate).days.abs)}}
{{issue.duedate.minusDays(fieldChange.to.toDate.diff(fieldChange.from.toDate).days.abs)}}

Hi @Vidhya Kumar - have you selected this option under rule details, to allow the rule to trigger after it updates the due date for epics linked from the first epic?

Ah yes, that's the part I've missed. Thank you so much @Charlie Gavey

@Vidhya Kumar

Thanks for creating the rule. It helps me for planning the project. But Jira create loops, when the automaion rule works.

Do you know why?
