Integrate with Service Now

Software licensing August 16, 2024

Hi

I am following the steps provided by Service Now

Integrating with Jira Software Cloud (servicenow.com)

Under Using OAuth authentication section

  1. From the Jira Software product, click Manage product access.

The URL is in the following format in a new window: https://admin.atlassian.com/s/<Cloud-ID>/apps.

Where do you find the Cloud ID???

    2. When you get to this step

  1. Navigate to All > Connections & Credentials > Credentials.
  2. Open the credential record that you had created for the Jira spoke.
    For example, Jira OAuth credential.
  3. Select the Get OAuth Token related link.
In a new window, the system asks access to your Atlassian account.

I received the below error:

Something went wrong

Information for the owner of service now pre prod

This app has not requested any supported Atlassian scopes. Check the authorization URL for your app and ensure it includes valid scopes.

Please help I am going round in circles

Thanks

Neena

Hi @Software licensing ,

Thanks for posting your question here.

For the Step 1, I see the cloud id here : https://home.atlassian.com/

Are you trying to integrate Jira with ServiceNow?

May I please ask you the use-case here?

If you are looking to sync Jira Issues with ServiceNow tickets or vice-a-versa, then I would recommend you to try out Exalate in that case.

Exalate is a completely decentralized bi-directional integration solution which can be completely customized and it also provides you a Groovy-based scripting engine which is very flexible.

It also provides a 30-day free trial incase you want to evaluate the product.

I am Dhiren, one of the Solutions Engineers working at Exalate.

Let me know if you need any more help or info!

Thanks, Dhiren

Hi Fadoua,

Apologies on the delay. So I started from scratch again and followed every step carefully.

I think I found the Cloud ID which mine was 9e3a08ab-b953-43dc-af46-2e315da9ad47

But I am still getting the error see attached.Screenshot 2024-10-10 223918.png

@Diana_Architect_ZigiWave & @Dhiren Notani_Exalate_  based on Atlassian guidelines vendors shouldn't push a user to try their apps. The main goal in the community is to assist a user in the best way. Not every company is open to invest in plugins.

Please respect the guidelines.

Best,

Fadoua

@Software licensing hi there!  To find your Cloud ID for Jira, try this:

Log in to your Atlassian account

Access the Admin Console: Go to the URL in the format https://admin.atlassian.com/.

Select Your Site: If you manage multiple sites, select the one associated with your Jira instance.

Check the URL: Once you are in the admin console, look at the URL in your browser's address bar. The URL will be in the format https://admin.atlassian.com/s/<Cloud-ID>/.... The <Cloud-ID> is the unique identifier for your site. It's typically a string of alphanumeric characters.

This should help you find the ID.  As for the error - perhaps the OAuth token request is not properly set up.

Anyway, if you're looking for an easier way to integrate and sync ServiceNow and Jira bi-directionally, feel free to check out ZigiOps at the Atlassian Marketplace . It's a fully no-code integration platform that is 100% secure (does not store any data), is easy to set up and customize and can make the Jira ServiceNow integration in minutes. ZigiOps has a free trial - if you decide to give it a try.

Regards, Diana (ZigiWave team)

Hi @Software licensing

Regarding Step 1:

When I click on the admin Cog -> Billing -> I see admin.atlassian.com/s/cloud ID

Regarding Step 2:

Can you please share the link to the documentation you are using for the integration?

Best,

Fadoua

Hi Fadoua,

Thanks for replying back.

Step 1: I followed your steps but still can't find the cloud ID.

Step 2: These are the instructions provided by Service Now - Integrating with Jira Software Cloud (servicenow.com)

Also we have purchased 400 licenses but I can see this anywhere. We have 2 oraganisation accounts: Centrica and cen1234. In Centrica there are no products. In cen1234 I can only see Jira Admin and Jira  (Free 1 user)

I am on annual leave from 27th August - 9th September 2024. I will reply when I am back.

Thanks

Neena

Hi @Tinker Fadoua

Hope your well?

I have managed to find some time to go through this.

Could we set up a call to go through this?

Thanks

Neena
