Inventory & Asset management is quite a broad topic, so it would be great to also learn about your specific use case to help you further. 

Albeit, we have a powerful asset management app for Jira that covers most cases -
Asset tracker for Jira.

It comes with device discovery (WMI / SSH), flexible CMDB and mobile apps for Android and iOS if you need to perform operations on assets on-the-go.

i am assuming you are talkign about IT asset ...you can check out Insight plugin ... i think its by Riada.

I have seen people build their own system in jira.
