Is it possible to fill an assignee with Automation for Jira (smart value) based on a project role.

Situation:

If it is an issue with value X in Custom_field Y, the assignee must become the person in project role manager.

If it is an issue with value Z in Custom_field Y, the assignee must become the person in project role testmanager.
The project roles manager and testmanager are present in the various projects, with 1 user in each role in each project.

The automation rule is for multiple projects

Hi Marco

Yes, you can build a rule in Automation for Jira that does that. 

Create a rule based on Field value changed trigger. 

Then add an Action component for Assign issue. 

Choose Assign the issue to: User in a role

Then just follow through with the rest of the values needed.

Sorry for digging this post back up but how would I go about adding all users of a Project Role to any other multi user field?

In particular I am looking to use Automation for Jira to set the Approvers to all members of a project role, but https://support.atlassian.com/cloud-automation/docs/jira-smart-values-projects/ seems lacking.
