Hi There,
I have a requirement of having intigration between JIRA to JIRA.
suppose say my client A is already using JIRA and now they want if they create, update the ticket at there end, it should be reflecting in MY JIRA portal. if this is possible then let us know how and what can be done.
Thanks
Hi @Nilesh,
This is a common use case for synchronization.
You'll be able to synchronize any issue data of your client over to your instance.
This will happen in real-time. That way, you'll always be in the loop on progress status, comments, attachments and even work-logs or change history.
You'll be able to easily customize exactly what you'd like to sync and who you'd like to sync it with.
Like the following example. We used the Exalate Issue Sync app to do this.
We are the developers of the app. So let us know if you need any help setting it up.
If you want, I can show you exactly how it would work for your use case through a one-on-one demo. You can book one here: Book A Demo.
Great! Like I said, just reach out if you have any questions at all.
You can contact me directly at stefaan@idalko.com. Or just start a live conversation with me (or support) on the chat tool at https://www.idalko.com/exalate.
Cheers!
Stefaan

Hi @Nilesh,
This is possible using a Jira issue synchronization add-on, such as Backbone Issue Sync for Jira. (Please be aware that I work for the developer of this add-on).
After Backbone is installed on both your Jira instances, you can set up an integration between specific projects in those instances. Issues are then synchronized between these projects – so if you create or update an issue in one instance, the same change is automatically synced to the partner issue in the other instance.
You have full control on the scope of the synchronization, as Backbone allows you to define which issue types and which fields should be kept in synced and how they should be synchronized.
Via the Atlassian Marketplace you can generate a free 30-day trial license which should give you enough time to check if Backbone might be a good fit here.
Feel free to reach out to us if you have any further questions or want to discuss your use case more in detail. We're here to help!
Cheers,
Tom.

Thanks Tom, I appreciate your quick replay. Mostly I am looking at is there any thing you are aware of which can be done without add-on or plugins.

Hi,
It is theoretically possible to have automated issue sync without using third-party add-ons, but this would require you to write your own scripts totally from scratch, which could become very complex very quickly.
In my personal opinion, the best practice for this scenario is to use an issue sync add-on, it's the simplest way of getting something like this set up really quickly.
Cheers, Tom

Hi @Nilesh,
from what you describe it's probably worth looking at the following plugin from K15t
https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.k15t.backbone.backbone-issue-sync/cloud/overview
It's exactly for the purpose you describe.
That company is also relatively active in the Forums - I'm sure they'll answer any further Questions you may have.
Cheers,
Christian
