Jira Software shows Jira Core is updatable – only Jira Software Licence present

Hi,

we have a Jira Software Starter License and are running self-hosted. The admin section now shows Jira Core has an update available (7.12.3 -> 7.13.0), but when I click "Download" the trial version download opens up. I expected the system to perform an update.

Underneath the info box there is a link which allows to "add a license" for Jira Core.

• Do we need an additional license for Jira Core?
• How can we perform the update?

you don't need a licence for Jira Core and actually can't update just by clicking this button.

To upgrade to the latest Jira Software version, you can follow this guide.

No, your Software licence entitles you to Core as well.

However, Core is a manual update - you have to download it and run the installer, telling it to upgrade your old Jira.
