Dear Jira,
I have created 2 automation rules in JIRA, 1 is for the detection of the duplicate tickets and the other is for the cancellation of the newest duplicated ticket.
I search for a summary contains (It is the only way that I have to check the similarity of the tickets) and in case of contains those text values, the issues is linked, after that I try to cancel the newest, but seems that JIRA don't execute task 2 as no logs is present.
I have another very similar rule working perfectly, but in this case I don't know why is not executing task 2.
Can you help me in any way?
Below Task 1, Task 1 log and Task 2
The execution of the JQL shows SD-18296 which is correct and has to be deleted, but Task 2 never execute.
you might want to check your rule details for Task 2 to check whether or not the rule can be triggered by the actions of another rule.
Select this checkbox to make sure your rules work together as expected.
Hope this helps. Let me know if this fixed it.
Greetings
Gideon

Very strange, this works for us.
I can't see the task 1 link issue but config but I'd check it is using the Duplicate link type.
When you say never executes, do you mean it never fires or it doesn't pass your JQL?

Hi Tom,
For me never fires task 2, as no logs are written. Nothing
