Currently, there is no quick way to audit users by role in Jira Data Center. Even the user list does not show what projects and roles they are part of within the system. We can do a database query but we are looking for a quicker, repeatable way to be able to query users (inactive users, users based by role, etc). It would be great if this were an option on the User Management screen or even in the audit log to be able to query through the admin dashboard as opposed to having a Sys Admin do the query.
Has anyone had experience with this or a way to make it as a suggestion for Atlassian to consider?
Thanks!
Hello @Ann-Marie Saucier-Gnall
Unfortunately, I am not aware of any way to do this with base Jira. However, there are a number of Apps that might be able to help you with this kind of audit.
My first recommendation would be Power Admin from Botrom (Appfire). I know it can return exactly what you are looking for, and is definitely worth at least trialing.

The second is User Management for Jira by Tech-Time. I"ve used both these Apps, and this one is one of the best for sorting, filtering, and managing users. I've used this is a lot of user cleanup to deactivate users who are not using the tool, as to free up licenses for those who are.
